Welcome to my practice! I appreciate your giving me the opportunity to be of assistance to you. I believe that you should feel comfortable with the therapist you choose, and hopeful about the therapy. When you feel this way, therapy is more likely to have a positive outcome. Please allow me to describe how I see therapy. I am a licensed clinical social worker and I am not a medical doctor, so I do not use physical interventions such as medications. I use a cognitive-behavioral approach and it is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, not things, such as people, situations, and events. I am a firm believer that we can change the way we think to feel and act better even if the situation does not change.
